It's time to help our students take flight in 2026! The annual Mendota Walk-a-thon is taking place on October 1st and the time to soar is now! Students will each spend one hour completing as many 1/4 mile laps around the baseball fields as they can to raise money for Mendota Elementary and its programming. Grade level prizes will also be awarded. The grade with the most money raised will have first choice or prize activity. The grade with the second most money raised will have second choice of activity and so one. All grades will participate in a prize! You can indicate the grade of your choice (or leave blank) on the donation form. Prizes include the following:

• Stories and Smores: 30 minutes of reading in the Mendota Forest with a s'mores treat, led by Mrs. Keane.

• Pizza Party: An afternoon pizza snack delivered to the grade level commons.

• Dynamic Donuts: PJs and Donuts in the cafeteria with Mr. Hayes.

• Rejoice for Recess: An extra 30 minutes of recess and a treat for the entire grade.

• Gym Games with Mr. Holtz: An extra 30 minutes of gym time for each class in that grade.

ALL students will receive a Mendota t-shirt with our 2026-2027 theme BIRDS on the day of the walkathon. Adult Mendota themed t-shirts also available for purchase at the fall festival. All funds raised go directly back to the students and staff of Mendota Elementary. Lets flock together and help our students fly to new heights this year!
